The Church at Ephesus

November 21, 2011

This week Steve Collins, a professor in the Hargrove school at Lincoln Christian University, offers insight into the city and church of Ephesus. Steve's insight into what we can learn from the Ephesians is particularly helpful. Like many of the professors at LCU, Steve has experience preaching and teaching in the church. He clearly demonstrates this with his ability to take complex subject matter and communicate it effectively.

He also gives us some good basic guidelines for our study including:
  • The study should impact our hearts
  • We should read the book in humility
  • We should read the book asking what it meant to the or...

What I Hoped Your Kids Learned in Children's Church

November 7, 2010

As you may have heard, there was a fire in the building this morning. A controlled fire. The video above is actually a slow motion replay of what your kids witnessed.

Here's what I hoped they learned...We had the kids write on two separate sheets of paper. On yellow paper we wrote the stuff that Jesus wants us to do, and on the white paper we wrote stuff that he did not want us to do. Then we put all of the paper into one container.

I had let the kids know that we were going to be burning somet...

Thanks to Everyone

October 31, 2010

There are so many people who helped make Trunk or Treat what it was this year. The weather was beautiful and thanks to cotton candy, hot dogs, nachos, donations, time, and energy inside various trunks we had at least 200 people come through our parking lot. Trunk or Treat is an outreach that makes ECC a special place to be.

The festive and fun atmosphere was awesome. Thanks again.
